The Sound of Brownsburg took 4th place at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) State Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, November 9, 2024. They compete in Open Class A, which is the class with the largest schools in Indiana.
Since first reaching State Finals in Open Class A in 2016, the band has advanced to finals 7 out of the last 9 years, with one of those years being 2020, when the event was cancelled.
Indiana is a very competitive state for marching band. The top 2 bands this year have won the Grand National Championships multiple times. To be consistently placing in the top 5 is a huge testament to the outstanding performing arts program at Brownsburg High School.

Up next is Bands of America Grand National Championships, also at Lucas Oil Stadium. More than 110 bands from 20 states will compete at this prestigious event. The Sound of Brownsburg performs in Prelims on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 9:00 pm. Should they advance to Semi-Finals, they would perform again on Saturday morning or afternoon, with a chance to advance to Finals on Saturday night.
The band has advanced to Grand Nationals finals the past two years, taking 8th place in 2022 and 11th place in 2023, out of approximately 100 bands each year.
