Middle School Jazz Band

Brownsburg Middle School Jazz Bands make up an exciting extra-curricular activity that allows students to learn basics of jazz, improvisation techniques and to expand the student’s knowledge-base of musical style… everything from rock to swing. Each Brownsburg middle school program has one jazz band. Each band is auditioned at the beginning of the school year. The ensembles play throughout the year participating in different festivals around the state and local concerts such as the Bloomington Jazz Festival, ISU Jazz Festival, ISSMA Jazz Festival and the Brownsburg Jazz Dinner Dance – Jazzin’ the ‘burg. The bands have been invited to perform at numerous community events including 4 times at the Indiana Statehouse for March with the Arts presented by the Indiana Music Educators Association, 2 times for the National Association of Middle School’s National Conference and an Indiana Pacers game.
