John Marque
As a performer, John has been a central piece of the Indianapolis music scene since 2006. Since then John has had the pleasure of playing with Melvin Rhyne of Wes Montgomery, Steve Weakley of Funk Inc, contemporary greats Rob Dixon, Tad Robinson, the Buselli/Wallarab Big Band, The Carmel Symphony Orchestra, a regional tour with Platinum Award winning writer and musician Ann Hampton Callaway, and a myriad of other incredible musicians in the region. John has recorded over 100 records in the region at Primary Sound Studios, The Lodge, The Pop Machine, Twin Mono, and Gaither Studios, most recently with award winning, Canadian singer-songwriter Matt Epp on his single “Ring Them Bells.”
As an educator, John serves as Assistant Band Director at Brownsburg High School, teaching Percussion and Music Theory and Composition. Under John’s administration in the percussion department, the Brownsburg High School Winter Percussion program has medaled at IPA State Finals and WGI World Championships. John holds a Bachelors in Music Performance from Miami University and a Masters in Music in Jazz Studies from Indiana University. John was a member of the 2002 Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corp under percussion caption head Colin McNutt. John is an endorser of Vic Firth sticks and mallets, Remo Drumheads, Zildjian Cymbals and Pearl/Adams Drums and Percussion.
