Congratulations to the Brownsburg High School and Middle School band and orchestra students who performed at the ISSMA Solo & Ensemble contest on February 3! Bravo to each and every one of you!
Brownsburg High School Band, 38 total performances from 56 students:
32 solos:
- 25 Group 1 solos – 20 Gold ratings (18 choosing to continue to State) and 5 Silver ratings
- 6 Group 2 – all Gold ratings
- 1 Group 3 – Silver rating
6 ensembles:
- 3 Group 1 ensembles – all Gold ratings (all 3 choosing to continue to State)
- 2 Group 2 – all Gold ratings
- 1 Group 3 – Gold rating
East Middle School Band had 5 ensembles and 19 soloists perform. All received Gold ratings, with 4 “perfect scores.”
West Middle School Band had 24 participants, 23 Gold ratings, 1 Silver rating
Brownsburg High School Orchestra:
- 27 Gold soloists, with 12 choosing to continue to State
- 6 Silver soloists
- 9 Gold ensembles, with 2 choosing to continue to State
East Middle School Orchestra had 24 soloists and 9 ensembles. Each one earned a Gold rating.
West Middle School Orchestra had 15 soloists and 5 ensembles, earning 20 Gold ratings, with 5 perfect scores.
This success is a testament to the strength of Brownsburg’s music education program. The passion and talent exhibited by these students not only make the present moment extraordinary but also ensure a bright future for the world of music.
