ISSMA State Qualifications
Wind Ensemble
Friday, May 2, 2025
Students will stay after school on Friday, May 2.
Parent Volunteers Needed
We need 2-3 parent volunteers to help chaperone our trip to Westfield High School. Please contact Mr. Kaflik (ckaflik@brownsburg.k12.in.us) if you are able and willing to help.
Information for Students
Bring your concert clothing to school! We will have a “rack” in the band area that you can use to store your attire until the event, rather than wearing it all day. If you want to store it on a rack, please make sure it is labeled with your name!
Food – We are not planning to feed students a meal as a part of the trip to Westfield. If you would like to bring a light snack to eat after school or on the bus on the way to Westfield, students will need to have plenty of energy for their performance that night. Plan ahead!
Schedule/Timeline:
3:00 – Meet in the Brownsburg High School band room.

**Important – when we return to Brownsburg, please plan to give 2-3 extra minutes and help to unload something from our trailer! Many hands make light work, and if everyone can carry one or two items, we’ll be done very quickly!
Important Reminders:
As participants in this ISSMA event, we must follow the contest schedule and rules that have been created by ISSMA and Westfield High School. We are on a very strict timing schedule for the entire evening. Please plan well to ensure nothing will disrupt our schedule. Please represent the Brownsburg High School band program with professionalism throughout the evening. There will be students, parents, judges, and others from many visiting schools. We want to be the example of professionalism for visitors to their event.
