At the Bands of America Grand National Championships this past weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium, The Sound of Brownsburg performed with 112 other bands from 20 states, making this one of the largest marching band competitions in the world.
After their prelim performance on Thursday evening, the band advanced to Semi-Finals, as one of 34 Semi-Finalist Bands. They performed in Semi-Finals at 7:30 am on Saturday and delivered their best run of the season. Unfortunately, they did not advance to Finals, marking the end of the season for The Sound of Brownsburg. The competition was full of extremely good marching bands from around the country. For Brownsburg to be ranking among the elite marching bands in the country is truly an amazing accomplishment by our students and staff.
The band has advanced to Semi-Finals in each of the five years they have performed at the competition. (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024) In 2022 and 2023, they advanced to Finals, taking 8th place and 11th place respectively.
While we may be sad that the season is over, we are extremely proud of the student-musicians and student-performers of The Sound of Brownsburg and their achievements this year.
- 2024 Center Grove Invitational – 2nd place in Open Class A
- 2024 Bands of America Indianapolis Super Regional Finalist – 6th place out of 88 bands.
- 2024 ISSMA Open Class A State Finalist – 4th place
- 2024 Bands of America Grand National Championships – One of 34 Semi-Finalists out of 113 bands.
In addition, their relentless pursuit of excellence has been an inspiration to watch over the course of the season. Their teamwork and collaboration has created friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
And, we could not produce and perform this show without the tremendous support of the Brownsburg Community School Corporation, the Brownsburg community at-large and our incredible team of directors, staff, parents and volunteers. Thank you all for making this show – and season – so memorable for everyone.
The future is bright for The Sound of Brownsburg. In addition to competitions in the fall of 2025, we’ll also be marching in the 2026 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California!
