The Brownsburg Band and Orchestra program has a proud tradition of excellence while creating a supportive, nurturing environment where students can achieve. Student musicians in the Brownsburg Bands and Orchestras develop their talents alongside other children who share the same interests under the guidance of outstanding educators who are committed to their development and well-being.
Jasmine Vann joined the Brownsburg staff in Fall of 2023. She is excited to teach the West middle school bands, jazz band, and assist the high school marching band!
Ms. Vann is a horn player originally from Plainwell, Michigan. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Music Education, with a specialty in Instrumental Band music, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, with a concentration in Hispanic Linguistics. In her spare time, Ms. Vann loves to travel, cook, and rock climb when she is not teaching music.
Laura Crawford joined the Brownsburg staff in 2011. She teaches orchestra at Brownsburg East Middle School. She also teaches Chamber Orchestra, an after-school volunteer group. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Violin.

Katie Stitsworth joined the Brownsburg Orchestras staff in 2022. She is the orchestra director at Brownsburg West Middle School and recently graduated from Butler University. Katie has been passionate about music since she started taking cello lessons at the age of 10. She grew up in Frankfort, Indiana with her parents and 2 older siblings. She was a Frankfort High School Hotdog graduate and became a Butler Bulldog and is now a Brownsburg Bulldog. She is excited to be working with the Brownsburg music program!
Tracy Runyon started his band career playing alto sax at Brownsburg Junior High School! After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Indiana State University and teaching in Tell City and Yorktown, he landed his dream job as band director at his Alma Mater, Brownsburg High School in 1997. In 2015 Mr. Runyon took over as the Brownsburg High School Performing Arts Department Head. Mr. Runyon also holds a Masters degree in Music Technology from Indiana University. He teaches band at East Middle School. Mr. Runyon and his wife have three grown children and live in Brownsburg. In his spare time Mr. Runyon loves to travel to Florida, Disney World or the beach (Siesta Key is his favorite place) or spend time with his family.
Chris Kaflik joined the Brownsburg staff in 2016. He teaches high school band, color guard, jazz band, marching band and assists with the middle school bands. Mr. Kaflik is a baritone player and hails from Carmel, IN, where he was a member of the nationally recognized Carmel Marching Greyhounds. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Ball State University. Mr. Kaflik is active as a clinician and adjudicator with numerous high school marching bands and professional drum corps around the country.
John Marque joined the Brownsburg Bands staff in 2016. He teaches percussion grades 6 – 12, jazz band, percussion ensemble and marching band. He has a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from Miami University (Ohio) and a Masters of Music degree in Jazz Studies from Indiana University. Mr. Marque is an active performer in the midwest and an endorser of Vic Firth, Zildjian, and Remo products. When he is not teaching, you can find Mr. Marque and his wife (also a professional musician!) gigging around central Indiana and neighboring states.
Chris Paulson joined the Brownsburg band staff in the Fall of 2022. He teaches high school band, jazz band, pep band, and marching band. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Ball State University in 2006, Mr. Paulson taught for eleven years in the Penn-Harris-Madison School District and for five years in the Lafayette School Corporation. Mr. Paulson also holds a Master’s degree in Wind Conducting from the American Band College at Sam Houston State University. When he is not teaching, you can find Mr. Paulson on the golf course, trying out great local restaurants, or playing games with Sarah, his wife, and their two children, Brandon and Alayna.
